Got A Ukulele Best Ukes of 2024

Closing out the year 2024, it's time for a look back at the Got A Ukulele 'Best Of 2024' Top Ten! 

Like last year, these are the best scores given by Got A Ukulele to ukes in the year 2024 out of all of them that were reviewed. (36 this year and 454 in total since I started!). That’s not to say they are the best ukes FULL STOP - just the best i’ve personally looked at in the last twelve months. 

Where scores have been tied, I have had the difficult job of re-ordering them to my own final preference. It’s been a very high scoring year at the upper end so i’ve had a few decisions to make to re-order it. Well done to those that made the top ten cut regardless of where you finish - these are all wonderful ukes to consider.

10 - Kala Contour Baritone - 9.3 out of 10 - A real return to form for Kala with this series that made me so happy to see. Interesting times ahead with this brand I think, and about time! Bring on 2025!! https://www.gotaukulele.com/2024/02/kala-ka-ct-sa-bg-contour-baritone.html 

9 - Bonanza Renegade Baritone- 9.4 out of 10 - what’s not to like here for the price? How does he make these work??? No nonsense and a lot of fun! https://www.gotaukulele.com/2024/08/bonanza-ukuleles-renegade-baritone.html 

8 - Klös Full Carbon Baritone - 9.4 out of 10 - the ultimate Klös in my view. Just impeccable. https://www.gotaukulele.com/2024/08/klos-guitars-full-carbon-baritone.html 

7 - Kala Night Owl Tenor - 9.4 out of 10 - The embodiment of what I think the Revelator Concept should be about. This is the perfect blend of concept and price and well deserves to be in my top ten.. https://www.gotaukulele.com/2024/10/kala-revelator-night-owl-tenor-ukulele.html 

6 - The Rebel Neri Concert - 9.4 out of 10 - bonkers, unconventional, daft, but VERY clever (there's a method to their madness) and, most importantly, wonderful to listen to and play. A delight of an instrument. https://www.gotaukulele.com/2024/10/the-rebel-limited-edition-neri-concert.html 

5- Emerald Synergy Baritone- 9.5 out of 10 - Quite simply jaw dropping. A total work of art. Incredible piece of work. https://www.gotaukulele.com/2024/03/emerald-synergy-uke-harp-ukulele-review.html 

4 - Bonanza Maverick Concert - 9.5 out of 10 - The second showing for Bonanza with their value line. Just great and put an ever so slightly bigger smile on my face over the Renegade.. Maybe it was the racing stripes! https://www.gotaukulele.com/2024/10/bonanza-maverick-concert-ukulele-review.html 

3 - Kanile’a KTR-T - 9.6 out of 10 - Just stunning from this superb brand. You KNOW I like this brand so much, and this is just dream territory for them. https://www.gotaukulele.com/2024/05/kanilea-ktr-t-master-grade-koa-tenor.html 

2 - aNueNue UC-110 Green Bird Concert - 9.6 out of 10 - This one could easily sit in the top spot. A wondrous instrument and a great way to start the review year for me. I was SO happy to see this one early on. https://www.gotaukulele.com/2024/01/anuenue-uc-110-green-bird-concert.html 

1 - Martin Beck Spruce Mahogany Concert - 9.6 out of 10 - quite simply one of the nicest ukes i’ve had in my hands, in ANY year. I can’t put in words how nice Martin’s ukuleles are. What did you think? Honestly - any of those top three could have taken the top spot, but when there is something totally hand made like the Beck in the mix.. well... I have to give him the top prize.. And even outside the top ten a really great year for ukes regardless.. Two great new Eastman's,  a couple of crackers from Caravelle Kitchen, the Flight Maia of course, the Fluke baritone, two great Noah's, a new Martin tenor worth it's salt and a first LoPrinzi on the reviews.. All these did extremely well in 2024. A great time to be a uke buyer!

I also said during the year that 2024 seemed to be baritone heavy and with four baritones in the final top ten and many more on review (including the final one for 2024), i'd agree with that!
